“Noémie’s Journey” – ARCs for Reviewers

A man running from his past.
A woman fighting for her future.
In what world could they ever connect?
Not this one.

Richard is certain small-town Summitville, North Carolina is a safe haven from his demons…until a woman with stunning green eyes resurrects the protective instinct that once cost him everything. And rattles the walls of his armored heart.

Noémie knows her place in this prejudiced town, but Richard is temptation on two wheels. Despite their best intentions, attraction—and trouble—finds them both. Can love bloom where it’s planted, or will hate rip out their love by the roots?

National Read A Book Day

Though we celebrate National Book Lovers Day on August 9th, we observe National Read A Book Day on September 6th each year.  It is meant to not only encourage a love and enjoyment of literature, but also to bring awareness to the health benefits of reading.

It has been proven that reading not only reduces stress, it increases empathy as well as intellect.  In addition, it is known to slow the natural memory loss and mental decline seen with aging as well as prevent diseases such as dementia.  Actually, it is shown to increase memory.   Reading ‘rewires’ the brain and increase communication overall, whether verbal or visual.

Here are some great book ideas for National Read A Book Day:

Julie & Marnie’s WP Blog Is Now NORNSTRIAD.COM/BLOG

I wanted to let all of my loyal followers know that I have merged my blog and website into nornstriad.com.

My www.jmnorthup.com domain is still active, but I have redirected it to my Norns Triad author page. I have begun to merge the Julie & Marnie’s WordPress Blog into the Norns Triad blog since I maintain both. It makes it cleaner and more streamlined, saving time and money, so it just made sense. I hope you will continue to support me and all the ladies of Norns Triad Publications, which not only include Marnie Cate but Sahara Foley and Karen J. Mossman.

Peace & Blessings, Julie

Celebrate International Literacy Day!

If you want to learn more about the statistical history, you can find it HERE.
This year’s THEME.

The United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared September 8th International Literacy Day during their 14th session in 1966, though it was first celebrated in 1967.  The idea is to not only promote literacy and bring awareness of its importance to society and the individual themselves, but to keep records of our literacy rate and ability to educate all people.  Unfortunately, we statics still prove that one in five adults are still not literate.  Worse, two-thirds of illiterate adults are women, and that is simply unacceptable.

The World Literacy Foundation offers great ways how you can get involved to make a difference.  National Today, also, has some great ways to observe this holiday.

Olivia visits each of her sons to share a final connection before facing the truth that will change their family, and discovers that each of them has been harboring a painful secret, just like their father. But will the secrets destroy their family, or bring them closer together?

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month

This observance is considered to have begun in 1987 when Secretary of Education William J. Bennett said, “Let’s have a national campaign…every child should obtain a library card – and use it.”

“This September, DC’s Wonder Woman is embarking on a new mission to champion the power of a library card as Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chair. A founding member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman is known for strength, compassion and truth. Armed with the Lasso of Truth, Wonder Woman makes a perfect ambassador to support the value of learning and the role libraries play in transforming lives and strengthening communities through education.”

Did you know there are some great PERKS to having a library card?  There are many benefits you many not realize you and your family have, such as access to thousands of free, unlimited audiobooks, digital comics, and ebooks as well as free movie streaming.  These are available even without leaving your home , which is a plus in our new world of social-distancing.  Of course, if you want to venture out on some adventures, you could always look into the option of using your library card as a free pass into museums.

Why not contact your local library and see what’s waiting for you to discover!
