SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY

LISTEN TO THIS MESSAGE TO LEARN MORE :30 Wav.

This observance is considered to have begun in 1987 when Secretary of Education William J. Bennett said, “Let’s have a national campaign…every child should obtain a library card – and use it.”

“This September, DC’s Wonder Woman is embarking on a new mission to champion the power of a library card as Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chair. A founding member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman is known for strength, compassion and truth. Armed with the Lasso of Truth, Wonder Woman makes a perfect ambassador to support the value of learning and the role libraries play in transforming lives and strengthening communities through education.”

Did you know there are some great PERKS to having a library card?  There are many benefits you many not realize you and your family have, such as access to thousands of free, unlimited audiobooks, digital comics, and ebooks as well as free movie streaming.  These are available even without leaving your home , which is a plus in our new world of social-distancing.  Of course, if you want to venture out on some adventures, you could always look into the option of using your library card as a free pass into museums.

Why not contact your local library and see what’s waiting for you to discover!

Desperate to find the father whom her mother refuses to reveal, Brianna accidentally finds out a shocking truth about her missing parent.

Markle’s Sexy Filthy Mush – The Marnie Cate Version

3 zucchinis (cubed)
Cooking Oil or spray
1 tbsp butter

(Not original recipe but it gives flavor that I like)

1 cup water
4 shakes minced onion

(This is not in the original recipe. If you have an onion on hand, you could saute it the zucchini.)

1 packet of Top Ramen Chicken Seasoning Packet

(The recipe calls for one chicken bouillon cube.  I don’t have those on hand.  I wonder if you could substitute chicken broth?

This is how I did it.  Clearly, you could sauté all in the Ninja or do the entire process on stove top

  1. Over medium heat, sauté the zucchini to give them a crispy brown color
  2. In your Ninja Foodi (or equivalent), melt 1 tbsp butter.
  3. Add cooked zucchini and water to the pot.
  4. Now it’s time to Pressure Cook it!  The stovetop version calls for a 4-hour slow cook.  I chose the faster 30-minute pressure cooker version.
  5. Stir the mushy goodness and have it with your favorite pasta or on top of chicken. Honestly, it is yummy enough to eat alone 😉

National Aviation Day for Book Lovers

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-aviation-day-august-19/

National Aviation Day is celebrated on Orville Wright‘s birthday (August 19, 1871), and it occurs during National Aviation Week. This is a time meant to recognize and celebrate the pioneers of aviation – not just the aviators themselves, but the engineers, mechanics, and all the personnel that made human flight possible!
A great way to celebrate is to read. Read biographies or historical fiction. Dream with the innovators who dared to make the impossible reality!

Rachael Tamayo is a former 911 emergency operator and police dispatcher.  After twelve years in those dark depths, she’s gained a unique insight into mental illness, human behavior, and the general darkness of humanity that she likes to weave into her books.  A formerly exclusive romance author tried her hand at thrillers in her award-winning novel, Crazy Love, and loved it so much that she decided not to turn back.
Born and raised in Texas, Rachael lives in the Houston area with her husband of sixteen years, and their two small children. More information can be found about Rachael at:
