June & July make UFO history.
We celebrate WORLD UFO DAY June 24th and July 2nd!
June 24th… In 1947, aviator Kenneth Arnold was out flying and reported nine UFOs near Mount Rainier in Washington State. This was the first widely reported UFO sighting and where we get the coined phrase: “flying saucer“. To make this more intriguing is that the first photos of an alleged UFO (taken by U.S. Coast Guard Yeoman Frank Ryman) were published on July 5, 1947 in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. It was only days later, on July 8th, that the Roswell Incident occurred (which is the second celebration of World UFO Day).
