Fishing… I’ll be honest – this has never been my thing. I don’t like to touch the fish or worms, and I cry at the idea of killing the worms or minnows to traumatize something I might just toss back. Still, I value hunting and fishing for food. I also value finding ways to enjoy nature and the people you love in ways that bring relaxation to all in such a hectic world.
For me, I’d rather walk along the water and watch the fish play. I would be more incline to learn what kind of species are in residence than to participate in catch & release or angling practices. Don’t misunderstand – I love a good fish fry/bake and will appreciate the efforts of the fisherman. I just know that fishing isn’t my sport, which is what this holiday is all about.
Did you know that the first “book” written about sport fishing was penned in 1496? Yep – it was called, A Treatyse of Fysshynge wyth an Angle. How about we find some other books about the subject!
The best memories I have of mom and dad are fishing and camping.
