Ever since Great Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron declared May 2nd International Harry Potter Day in 2012, Potterheads have been celebrating this literary holiday all over the globe. Not only is this observance meant to honor the contributions made by author J.K. Rowling to the literary community, but there’s a deeper significance to the date. The reason Harry Potter Day is celebrated on May 2nd is because this is the anniversary of The Battle of Hogwarts, the final conflict of the Second Wizarding War in 1998, which end the war and Lord Voldemort.
