“It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a child to inspire a village” — Emma Mactaggart, The Child Writes Fund

March 19th is a day about empowering our children. It is about encouraging them to have a voice and to ask for support from the adults in their community in order to literacy. It’s more than just about reading to a child. International Read To Me Day is about changing the disparity of resources, bringing equality, and uniting our youth in knowledge.

Reading is a vital part of development. Reading with your child helps to open communication, evolve imagination, improve vocabulary & language, teach kids about the world while instilling empathy… Literacy is about more than reading. That is why it matters. So, let’s celebrate it!
