Though I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, I have a long history with the Army. Not only because the Air Force came from the Army (Truman separated the Army Air Forces into its own departments with the National Security Act of 1947) but because generations of my family have served honorably in the Army and my husband was an Army man. It is because of the colonial militia that we have not only our country but our Army. Thank you to all who have, are, and will serve!
