DEAD MOUNTAIN: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident

I Completely enthralled!

I’m seriously becoming obsessed with the story about the Dyatlov Pass Incident. Despite the theories, I have no idea what happened, yet I cannot let this story go. I am currently reading, DEAD MOUNTAIN: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident and though I am not ready to write a review on this book, I did want to share an excerpt that I found to be particularly beautiful in its poetic wording. It is in reference to what is known as “The Thaw” or “Khrushchev Thaw“.

“For artist and intellectuals, the Khrushchev years were badly needed irrigation after decades of cultural drought.”

This may seem insignificant, but I’m curious as to how you came by the photo you used of the Dyatlov Pass victims. Again, just wondering!
